Thank you to everyone who joined us at Four Quarters Brewing for our recent Mad Takeover event! We are still in awe of the incredible talents shared, and we are deeply honored to be in community with all of you.
The night was energizing, electric, and inspiring. A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to Gabrielle Martin for being such an incredible MC and guiding the evening with so much warmth, grace, and energy.
Art, Vulnerability, and True Belonging
We were particularly moved by the raw vulnerability showcased in each unique and powerful performance. Thank you to our phenomenal featured performers and wonderful open mic participants—Rachel, Chris Hansen, Gabi, Chris Nial, Marxist Jargon, Neilah Rovinsky, Harry, and Strange Charm—for sharing your brilliant art with us.
To give you a glimpse of what the night truly felt like, one Mad Takeover attendee shared:
“The atmosphere was thick with something foreign to me: Belonging. Unconditional acceptance. Understanding and compassion for the weight that comes with psychiatric oppression. I’m used to feeling like an outsider, but not at Mad Takeover. I now feel more inspired than ever to be more ‘loud’ about my experiences, identity, and artistic expression.”
This is exactly why we do what we do. We are deeply committed to building intentional spaces and opportunities for Mad folks to safely share our stories, amplify our voices, and express our rawest creative truths.
